I've been drafting a reversible skirt for my Woman's Garb catalog. I love how it turned out! The skirts come in 2 color choices and are gathered on a very sturdy waistband that laces in the back. I also added a privacy panel/placket under the back opening. Each skirt front has a side split and a hook attached to the bottom. The bottom of the skirt can be lifted and hooked to the waistband to show off the coordinating underskirt. All seams are enclosed with no visible raw edges : ) 2 skirts in 1.

I'm also adding leaf necklaces. This one has ivory leaves with amethyst swarovski crystals, silver beads and silver clasp with lavendar swarovski crystals. It is beautiful!

I love the feel and smell of this new leather suede jerkin! I used heavy 4.5 oz leather suede to construct the jerkin and brass grommets with leather ties to close the front. I'll be adding this style to my store soon!

I've been drafting some wench garb! I'll be adding reversible bodice and reversible skirt sets and suede doublets/jerkins. I also have some bridal jewelry to add to my store : ) It's been a very productive season!

Here's the new style Harry Potter Robe like the one from the latest movies. I drafted out the hood/shoulder seams and lengthened the hood. Oh, and I added a wand pocket : )

I will be adding new items to my store in the next few months. I'm adding capes, cloaks, robes and some women's garb (Renaissance and Pirate)! This will keep me busy through the winter : )

Well, now that the Halloween rush is winding down, I think I'll tackle a new project ; ) I think I'll add a Zorro cape to my store...I can't wait to see the movie : )

I received the ultra suede swatches and they are gorgeous : ) I'm going to check out one more place that's local to see if I can get the suede a little cheaper.

I've been very busy this Halloween season : ) The firefly Zoe vest has been very popular! I'm still waiting for the ultra suede/leather swatches but I do have access to real leather suede for Mal's browncoat.

For the browncoat, I've ordered swatches of ultra suede and should get those next week. Ultra suede looks and feels just like real suede but it's machine washable. It'll be perfect for the browncoat. I'm thinking about offering the strider jerkin in ultra suede also (price is about $150.00). I've also priced real leather suede just in case anyone is interested. Leather suede is gorgeous but it's twice the price. I can make the ultra suede browncoat for about $300.00 (depending on the width of the fabric)or leather suede for $600.00 plus shipping. I think I'll make one for myself : )

I finished my Serenity duster mockup : ) I made this one out of a heavy twill. This will look great in ultra suede or suede leather so, if anyone is interested in the duster in ultra suede or suede leather, email me.

I've been working on my browncoat (bdc...big damn coat!). I've finished the first mockup and now I'll work on revisions. I think I need to add a few inches to the length and make the arms a litttle wider. I also need to find a better picture of the back of the browncoat. I guess I'll need to pop in the Firefly DVD again :) I haven't even started looking for the front closures/fasteners. Any ideas where to find them???

My Serenity / Firefly vest is finished! Yay! I still need to purchase a wider belt and buckle, though. I had so much fun recreating this costume piece and I'm thrilled with the final results.

I'm working on my final version of Zoe's Serenity Vest. I'm waiting on the buckles and then I can add the side straps. I also need to order a military buckle and get a wider belt. It fits like a glove and I love the material : ) This was a lot of fun to recreate!

I made my second mock up of Zoe's vest from Serenity / Firefly. I changed the front seams and added a couple of inches to the length. I love how it turned out. I've ordered the fabric and I'll shop for buckles this week. I can't wait to finish this one ; ) I'm having a few problems uploading the new pictures so I'll post them asap!

Here's the first draft of Zoe's vest. I need to enlarge the armholes a little and add about 2 inches to the length. I'll be able to add another side strap when I lengthen the vest. This has been fun to work on : )

I'm a huge Serenity/Firefly fan! So in honor of the upcoming movie, I've decided to start work on Zoe's vest : ) I started the mockup/muslin today. I'll post pictures asap!

Well, I spent several hours researching female pirates and I found that I already have the perfect female pirate coat! Historically speaking, women pirates typically dressed in men's clothing. So, my work in this genre is done : )

My store is open again! I've been working on pirate coats : )

I closed my ebay store for a couple of weeks so that I can finish a few projects. April is booked : )

I'm going to add a line of pirate garb for women. I'll start sketching and designing the pirate coat first : ) I'll have a few concept sketches soon!

Faramir Phase I is complete. Now I need to add the other layers. I found some beautiful leather for the gambeson.

Whew! What a great spring break. I'm all relaxed and ready to work : )

I bought the leather for the ties for the Faramir ranger style jerkin. They are going to look great. Here's a couple pictures of the jerkin in progress.

I also need to work on the side lacing and the hem.

Lately I've been working on custom orders : ) My Ranger design is coming along nicely. I'm trying to decide whether to have side lacing or not. Then I need to work on the leather front closures and back lacing : )

Well, I decided to scrap the whole idea of making pirate pants. I did a little more research and found that there are basically two types of pirate pants that you frequently see at Ren faires, fitted jean style and baggie drawstring style. I was working on a "period correct" pattern and realized that they would be incredibly hard to fit without doing custom fittings (and custom fittings ain't gonna happen : ) ) So, I've sketched another style of "ranger" jerkin that I'll start drafting this week. The style reminds me of Faramir from LOTR. I'll upload a sketch as soon as it's ready!

I had a great time at ORC and now it's back to work : ) I'm going to be drafting pirate pants this week! I've got the pattern ready to cut so I should be able to post pictures soon.

I plan to add pirate / Sca style breeches soon. I'll be drafting a pattern in the next few weeks : ) I will also be learning how to boil leather and weave chain mail. We'll have to see how that works out!
